And more

Katie and I have now been back in Lubbock for four days. We got home Thursday afternoon and were greeted by a completely disheveled apartment. Right before we left for California in April, Katie brought all her stuff over to my apartment (which is now, our apartment) and we had to find free corners to put it all. (We ran out of corners.) Then Thursday, after we unloaded the car, the house looked awful. As we began to unwrap new things, it looked even worse because of all the boxes and plastic and styrofoam everywhere.

We’re slowly getting it all together, though. And we are having a good time doing it. I spent five-plus hours putting together the new desk for “The Office” and we set up the twin bed in their as well. We’ve been doing some major cleaning, as well as arranging, and we’ve even begun some decorating. When the house is set up we’ll be sure to post some pictures.

We had a good time at the Grand Canyon. We only spent a couple hours there, but we had fun. We took a lot of pictures and I’ve posted some of the best here.

On Friday The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl In 3D was released and because it’s a Robert Rodriguez movie, I had to go see it. Since it is a kids’ movie, we decided to invite two of Pat and Malissa’s boys to go with us. The movie was great for what it was; it was fun watching a 3D movie and the message in the movie was pretty good, despite all its cheesy lines.

In other news...

Today we attended church at Sunset and after services we ran into Andrew and Jessica Moore. Andrew is the son of some of missionaries in Mexico City (who were Katie’s coordinators) and Jessica was a girl Katie was good friends with and worked with in the church. They were both married in March and now live here in Lubbock. They invited us over for lunch and we ate some authentic Mexican food and it was good!
